Hotel golf Château de Chailly – In wonderful Burgundy
Only 3 hours drive from Paris in the heart of Burgundy and its famous vineyards, you´ll find the authentic four-star Hotel golf Château de Chailly. I became great fan of this hotel and its absolutely amazing restaurant. Discover it with me here.
The Hotel golf Château de Chailly was once a medieval fortress. Today it is classified as a historical monument. In 1987 the property was completely renovated by its current owner, Yasuhiko SATA, and transformed into a beautiful golf hotel.
Behind the castle an 18-holes golf course unfolds in a 75-hectare park. There you´ll find an amazing atmosphere of calm and serenity. This weekend there was a golf competition and people were happily out on the field despite a few raindrops. At the hotel golf Château de Chailly we tried the superior bedroom and loved its super comfortable bed…
Even my little baby girl Lucie couldn´t stop smiling…
Not to forget the luxurious bedroom where I could spend hours enjoying champagne in the bath…
Downstairs you´ll find the hammam and jacuzzi where there´s a free access..
After having enjoyed all the facilities we jumped in the evening gowns and were ready to discover the Hotel golf Château de Chailly´s newly renovated “L’Armançon restaurant”.
The ambience was calm and cozy, with a nice jazz background music. Very romantic.
We had the “Menu du Château” prepared by the chef Jean-Alain POITEVIN.
A traditional and refined cuisine…
As an amuse bouche we tasted the silky smooth crab cream that slid quietly over the tongue and disappeared like a cloud in the sky, leaving only sunshine behind…extremely delicious.
The sommelier, Thierry LEDIEU, winner of the “Concours de Meilleur Sommelier des Alpes – La Bouteille Blanche”, gave us some good advise concerning the wine, so we ended up with an excellent Moray-saint-denis .The starter consisted of a warm fois gras served on a thin strawberry puree. A good contrast to the classic cold fois gras. These two ingredients formed a perfect companionship and left a rather unique taste in the mouth. The main course was an amazing veal served on leeks with a delicious morel mushroom cream.
I loved the great contrast between the soft meat and the crispy leeks.
Then we had cheese! If you’re fond of cheeses, you can look forward to choose from the many irresistible and heavenly cheeses…
I tasted the Neufchâtel, the Brillat savarin, the Régal de Bourgogne and the l´abbaye de citeau cheese! A real wow experience.
And as a dessert we had a delicious nut cake with caramel sauce in the middle…yummy.
I could feel a certain envy!
Next day we visited the rest of the Hotel golf Château de Chailly.
And the beautiful meditation room that reminded me a bit of the beautiful spanish Gaudi style.
Absolutely worth discovering…an rather rare and unexpected to discover this in a castle.
