The michelin restaurant at the 5 starred L´hotel
In the heart of Paris, near the Seine, beautiful galleries and the famous Beaux-Arts institute, I found the 5 starred l´hotel and the intimate Michelin star restaurant ‘Le restaurant’. It soon became my new favorite restaurant in Paris! Read about my experience here.
Le Restaurant is one of the most romantic, intimate and royal restaurants I’ve tried in Paris.
It can be found in the 5 starred hotel L´Hotel…
The big armchairs, green marblesque pillars and silk fabrics on the wall made me feel like a real princess in a royal home.
In the back of the restaurant I found a beautiful cobbled terrace with a small fountain and a verdant living wall. An amazing place. The sound of the running water added a peace to the surroundings and created a fantastic ambience.
I sad down and couldn´t wait to discover the head Chef Julien Montbabut´s refined cuisine.
To begin with I was served a plate with small delights: crispy, light and with notes of orange.
Then a fennel cream with lobster and lemon from the south, more precisely from Menton, was served. It was fabulous. I loved the presentation and the little green touch that reminded me of the greenery at the bottom of the terrace. It was light and fresh, almost like an ice cream that melted in my mouth. Definitely a nice experience.
The next thing that was served was quite surprising: a dish of tomatoes. Tomatoes, you might think. But yes! They were truly extraordinary, a dish that I will remember for a long time. It was as if my taste buds were taken on a journey. The ripe tomatoes, the olive oil, the mascarpone with spices constituted a perfect harmony of fresh ingredients. A real dining experience, both for the eye and the month.
The service was extraordinary and the light that crossed the transparent roof and landed directly on my table made the experience even more magical. It was almost like being in a sacred temple, far from everything. Like a trip to a secret place.
I was dreaming and enjoying at the same time.
Then a John Dory fish with citrus sauce, laurel flavor and sweet & sour salad was served: Fabulous. The perfect contrast and harmony between the crispy salad and the soft fish. I loved it. Each dish was beautifully presented…like small pieces of art. Even the homemade butter was an experience. I finished it all.
As a main course I had goat with zucchini and lemon cream. Really really good. A perfect texture, taste and color combination. What I really liked about this cuisine was the fresh ingredients, amazing taste and presentation. It was extremely sophisticated and light.
Before the dessert I had a Petit Suisse Malo with Vanilla oil, Celeriac and livèche. Fresh.
And strawberry marshmallows, small chocolates, not to forget the delicious hazelnut cream cookies. Excellent.
The dessert was magnificent: Raspberry macaroons filled with raspberry cream.
In general this is one of the best food experiences I´ve had so far. The place is simply amazing, discreet and filled with glamorous charm.
No wonder why celebrities come to this place to be seen. Back in the days it had famous visitors such as Salvador Dali, Princess Grace, Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor, not to forget Richard Burton, Jim Morrison and Serge Gainsbourg. A must-try in Paris.
