Le Millésime restaurant in Chambolle-Musigny, A Culinary Delight

There are so many beautiful places to explore in France, and the Burgundy wine region is definitely one of them. Around 3 hours drive from Paris you’ll find the charming wine village Chambolle-Musigny. Le Millésime is a contemporary restaurant nestled on 1 Rue Traversière. It is absolutely amazing. This restaurant alone is worth the trip.

Le millesime restaurantFrom the moment I arrived, I was captivated by its warm and sophisticated atmosphere, enhanced by a unique apple-themed décor that added a touch of rustic elegance.

On the wall a giant wine cooler, filled with some of the best Burgundy wines, was seducing the guests.

An Exquisite Culinary Journey

I sat down at one of the rustic tables, trilled to discover what the chef at Le Millésime had to offer.

It started with an amuse-bouche : a little peanut soup with foie gras. It was wonderfully velvety, smooth, and delicious. An interesting blend of traditional French flavors and yet with a creative twist. Comforting and innovative.

This was followed by a terrine with crunchy hazelnuts : exceptionally flavorful, enhanced by a slightly spiced jam. Light yet rich. A truly delightful starter.

For the main course, I indulged in a roast infused with herbs. A perfect balance between tender, melt-in-the-mouth meat and aromatic vegetables and herbs that added an extra depth of flavor. There was even a hint of mustard, bringing its own little touch to the dish. The quality of the local terroir ingredients was evident, and despite its richness, the dish never felt heavy.

The Perfect Wine Pairings

A meal in Burgundy is, of course, incomplete without exceptional wine. And as I wrote earlier Le Millésime offers a carefully curated selection, ensuring that each dish is perfectly paired with a complementary glass.

• The first red wine was extraordinary—round, balanced, and infused with cherry notes, enhancing the meal beautifully. My favorite!

• The white wine was powerful, fresh, and elegant, ideal for dishes with a bit of spice. It had a slightly mineral, gourmet, and smooth character, offering both structure and finesse.

• The second red wine was bolder and more intense, bringing a vibrant depth to the dining experience.

Each wine was perfectly paired with the dishes, elevating every bite and sip into a harmonious gastronomic experience.

A Sweet Ending at Le Millésime

To finish, I indulged in a passion fruit dessert, a refreshing and tangy finale that perfectly balanced the richness of the previous courses.

The service was attentive without being intrusive, making the experience even more enjoyable.
