Where to go when visiting Copenhagen in winter ?
If you’re spending a weekend in Copenhagen during the winter, it can be snowy and cold outside, so you might wonder where to stay and what to do? Here are some ideas.
Where to stay?
The Scandic Strandpark Spa hotel is amazing. It is located near the Copenhagen airport, in walking distance.

The decoration is modern and luxurious with a big bar in the hallway where you can enjoy a drink or coffee.

The rooms are spacious with a great view over the sea… and a super comfortable bed!

The Scandic spa
When you are staying at the hotel you will get access to the spa at favorable prices!
Book your slot of 2 hours as soon as you arrive to make sure you wont miss out. I really recommend you do this: the pool is big, offering an amazing view to the outside!
Besides that you can enjoy their footbath, hammam, warm stone room and sauna…
Go for a walk at Amager strand
If you like walking, it is a great experience walking from the hotel towards Amager-strand beach…this is what you’ll see…
Lunch at café Couloir
On your way towards the center of Copenhagen stop at café Couloir in front of Amager strand. Here you can enjoy some tasty fish dishes and famous danish smørrebrød (a must try)!
Afterwards continue through the famous Christiania, and walk towards Copenhagen city center…
Visit nyhavn
Dont miss out on a stop in Nyhavn, where the world famous writer HC Andersen once lived.

In the evening I recommend you try the restaurant Høst! And if you like fancy bars, the sommersko bar in the centre of Copenhagen could be an idea.
There are plenty of things to see and do in Copenhagen during winter. I truly recommend discovering the city by walking, you will see things you dont when taking the métro. Enjoy 😉
